BYE BYE BOOKS, HELLO KINDLE
The Kindle keyboard 3G Version
The first big boys toy i am going to review is the number 1 E-Book reader from one of the words biggest retailer Amazon
The kindle is so light its hard to comprehend that it holds more than 3000 + books on a device that is the height of an average paperback book but only the thickness of a magazine.
Amazon have really pulled the proverbial rabbit out the hat with this piece of tech. The Kindle also has a nifty built in web browser so yiu can update your facebook status or check sky sports for the latest footy score while you on the move, well thats providing you have picked one of the 3G versions.
purchasing a book is quick and simple you can either buy one on your computer and have it sent straight to the device or you can purchase straight from the kindle and the link to the amazon site, providing you have one that is, if not dont worry its simple to craete one.
Amazon's store has thousands of kindle books available at prices that in most cases are cheaper than its paperback cousins, you can even get some classics FREE.
Even if the book you choose isnt free you can download the 1st chapter free of charge!
The kindles display lets you read without any screen glare in direct sunlight making this ideal for around the pool in ibiza or in the garden back at home.
Amazon are now on the 4th generation of Kindles now but the interface doesnt change its just the size, shape, keyboard / touch screen etc that changes so there is no need to go out and buy the latest edition unless you want too that is.
Kindle also have a niffty screensaver when ever you put the device onto standby, the device displays a picture of a famous author or novel cover, although unless your putting the divice down for a short time i would recconmend putting it on standby for long as it will affect the inpressive battery life of the device.
KINDLE OPTIONS
Kindle - £89
Kindle Touch - £109
KIndle Touch 3G - £169
Kindle Keyboard - £149
NEGATIVES
The only downsides i have found to date are as follows,
* The kindle's display is only in basic print colour or to you and me doesnt display pictures in colour just in black & white.
* Kindle doesnt have a back light so if you wanna read at bedtime without disturbing the missus then your gonna have to purchase a booklight.
* only books bought from Amazon are compatible as they are a different format to other E-readers available
