One To Watch - Bilal Bascikoglu
He first came to my attention on Football manager 2015, the game that has highlighted many a future star with its amazingly detailed scouting system when I signed him as squad player for my Real Madrid team that already boasted an array of talent anyway but with a huge wage budget already I was forced to look for good low wage earning players to add to my squad but keeping within the structure and that is how I found him and immediately my board where delighted I had signed a player of his ability so straight away I wanted to learn more about him.
Midfielder Bilal was born on 26th March 1995 his farther is Turkish his mother is Moroccan but Bilal was born in Zaanstad Netherlands just north of Amsterdam, he started out in the world famous Ajax youth team but he never really stood out going on to play for various other regional youth teams until he was picked up by SC Heerenveen’s youth team. 2013/14 season seen Bilal promoted to the Heerenveen senior set up and made his debut against RKC Waalwijk his first senior goal came in the same season in fact on 22nd March 2014 he scored a Mess esque solo gaol in a 2-2 draw with NEC Brada, that season he went on to score 6 goals in 24 games.
After months of speculation linking him with a move away on 31st July 2014 he completed a €3.5million move to Feyanoord despite reported interest from Ajax & Manchester Utd. 2014/15 season hasn’t been as successful for the young winger having only played 4 time to date scoring 0 goals but this is no means him being a failure as this versatile midfielder has an extremely bright future in the game and I am sure he will be a top player for years to come, he as already been capped at U18 & U19 levels with the Dutch team but he has since chosen to represent his fathers country Turkey at both U20 & U21 levels but whoever he decides to play for he will certainly be ONE TO WATCH.
