Next up in ONE TO WATCH is Michy Batshuayi Tung who is a young Belgium striker who has recently rejected a number of premiership clubs Arsenal, spurs & Swansea to name a few who where reportedly interested in the hit man to sign for French Ligue 1 side Marseille recently from Standard Liege for a fee that could rose to €6 million . MIchy was born in Brussels Belgium on 02nd October 1993, his younger brother is also on the books of Belgium side Anderlecht in there youth side. Batshuayi made his Standard Liege debut in 2011 in a 4-1 defeat by AA Genk in a team consisting of Christian Benteke, Steven Defour & Axel Witsel as team matesbut it wasn't 13th February 2011 he scored his first senior goal in a Europa league game away at Copenhagen 15th December 2011, he scored his first league goal on the 14th January 2012 in 6-1 home win against Germinal he ended that season with 7 goals in 30 appearances but was sent off in a 3-2 defeat by Genk. The 2012-13 season was another progression for the youngster as he increased his goal scoring records where he ended the season with 12 goals in 34 games for Liege. It was the 2013 -14 that saw the striker emerge has a future star of the game when he scored an impressive 22 times in 43 matches including his first senior hat trick in a 2-4 victory against Oostende in the process helping Standard win the regular season but they unfortunately lost the championship play-off to Anderlecht but they still managed to qualify for the 2014 champions league.
Michy Batshuayi was reportedly on trial at Everton in early 2014 probably from recommendation from one of the Merseysider’s many Belgium links. Michy Batshuayi has been capped by Belgium at U21 level and when Christian Benteke was ruled out of Belgium’s World Cup squad many expected Batshuayi to be named in Marc Wilmot’s final squad from Wilmot’s by list but as it was Wilmot’s pick another young striker
Divock Origi who plays for Lille in France and who had only played once for the U21's.So to get over the disappointment of missing out on the World Cup after reportedly saying he was "he would wait for arsenal" after Standard and Swansea had agreed a fee but he soon changed his mind after Marseilles joined the race for one of Belgium's up and coming stars, he joined them on the 26th June for a figure that could rise to €6 million euros. I have high hopes that this lad will become one of European footballs most sought after player in the next few years, so watch out Michy's about
